The ANMLI is an association of museum professionals no- profit.
The ANMLI, since 1950, promotes collections’ improvement, scientific research and cultural activities, to increase the value of roles and professions; furthermore, it supports the museums’ autonomy. For these reasons the ANMLI made a network of museums continuously in relation to one another, to promote an effective debate on issues of common interest. The association promotes a lot of education opportunities, workshops, seminars, conferences and conventions. Furthermore the Association tries to support museums' tendencies and offers and the museum personnel, to represent their demands and to offer a first counselling service about the most important problems.
ANMLI is interested to offer to a wide spread of users more opportunities and innovative tools for approaching and understanding the history of the Institution. The ANMLI aims to understand the social and cultural contemporary evolution and to interpret, consequently, the museum as Institution and as actor.
One of the ANMLI's best project is “Civic Museum. Tradition and innovation”, that wants to reflect about the history of the Museum, to define its contemporary mission, and to guide its improvement in the these days historic, social and cultural contest.
The ANMLI promotes innovation as an essential spread for the development by the foundation of prize “Premio ANMLI Museo innovativo”, that wants to give visibility to Italian excellent experiences.
