Future for Religious Heritage is a European-wide network which was set up in 2011 to promote, encourage and support the safeguard, maintenance, conservation, restoration, accessibility and the embellishment of places of worship, their contents and their history. FRH is a non religious organisation and welcomes all faiths. FRH represents and brings together more than 130 members consisting of, universities, NGOs, charities, religious heritage institutions, architects, governmental institions and individuals from about 40 different countries.
Our activities are manifold. They consist of being a communication and exchange platform for our members and for those that are interested in religious heritage. FRH also leads or participates in European cooperation projects aimed at developing training offers, improving stakeholders’ involvement, enhancing rural cultural tourism, etc. Besides that, we initiate data gathering and scientific research in the field of religious heritage through surveys, meetings and conferences. And we also structurally reach out to politicians and policy makers on a European level to raise awareness and to encourage policy development for Europe’s places of worship.
