STICHTING OUDE GRONINGER KERKEN
The Stichting Oude Groninger Kerken (SOGK; English translation: Association of Old Churches in Groningen) was founded in 1969 and is one of the members of the (Dedicated) Stakeholder Panel within INCEPTION. The association stands for and is firmly committed to the proper management and use (preservation) of old historic church buildings in the Groningen province in the north of the Netherlands and to disclose as much as possible to the society the multifunctional uses and the value of these buildings and its surroundings. Over the past forty years, it has developed within a regional and national context into a successful and leading, contemporary organization in the field of restoration and reuse of religious heritage. The association owns in total 89 monumental buildings (April 2018), consisting of churches, synagogues, and local towers.
Within INCEPTION, the SOGK plays an important role in the identification of the Dutch use case, the validation, dissemination and the deployment of research. They are closely involved in the Dutch showcase (Church of Obergum) mainly in supporting the Dutch partner, DEMO Consultants, in data collection, and exhibit the preliminary results of the project through either on-site or off-site dissemination activities.
